WELCOME

Welcome to Ronin Karate Club Seaham, we are affiliated to the HDKI (Hombu Dojo Karate International).

We are a friendly, family oriented club practicing traditional Shotokan Karate at Seaham Leisure Centre.

We also have a club at Washington Leisure Centre.

Our clubs provide high quality instruction for both adults and children and we have some of the most experienced instructors in the North East including Sensei John Holdsworth 6th Dan, Sensei Julie Nicholson 6th Dan and Sensei Paul Dowell 6th Dan.

Unfortunately due to Covid restrictions our sessions are not running at present. Hopefully we will be able to resume soon.

CLUB GRADING

Our latest club grading was held on Sunday 21st July with Sensei Garry Harford 8th Dan. Sensei Harford took the brown and black belts through the preparations required for Dan gradings followed by a class for those taking part in the gradings. Both sessions were a masterclass in technique, timing and preparation for up coming gradings. Our students performed really well on the day with well deserved passes all round. Well done everyone!

JAMES PASSES SHODAN

Congratulations to our newest Black Belt James Woods. James travelled to Chesterfield on the 17th February to take part in the KUGB course and grading. Following a tough training session James performed really well during the grading and was rewarded with a well deserved pass. James is pictured with Sensei Andy Sherry 9th Dan and Sensei Frank Brennan 8th Dan.

KEIREN PASSES SHODAN

Well done to Keiren Swinbanks after passing his Shodan (black belt) grading on November 18th. Keiren has trained really hard over many years and his determination has paid off with a well deserved pass. Keiren is pictured with Sensei Andy Sherry 9th Dan and Sensei Billy Higgins 8th Dan.
